The final update from Sean Henry ('14) on his cycle trip from Vancouver, Canada down to the Andes of Chile, while raising money for World Bicycle Relief.
We are thrilled to announce that International School Basel Senior School student, Indraneel Mahendrakumar, has been chosen as one of 25 winners in the New York Times 10th Annual Spring Poetry Contest, for which they had just over 2,500 submissions! Originally from India, Indraneel moved to Basel from Mumbai only 4 months ago. He has always been an avid reader and for a recent assignment in a poetry unit in Ms. Triggs' English class, he submitted a poem to the contest. The challenge was to create blackout poetry from pages of the print New York Times. The library donated old copies of the New York Times to the project and students completed the poems in class after studying the blackout poetry form and examples.
