Happy Movie Screening

An event open to the entire family! What makes you happy? From the filmmakers who brought you Long Night's Journey Into Day, Beyond the Call, and the Oscar nominated Genghis Blues, comes a global journey across countries and continents in a search for humanity's most elusive emotion.

HAPPY seeks to share the wisdom of traditional cultures and the cutting edge science that is now, for the first time, exploring human happiness. Through powerful interviews, we explore what makes people happy across the world.

Building Resilience

Tuesday, 2 April, 18:30 to 20:00
Arlesheimerstrasse 7, 4147 Aesch

Registration is not yet live. More information coming soon.

Search Institute has identified 40 positive supports and strengths that young people need to succeed. Half of the assets focus on the relationships and opportunities they need in their families, schools, and communities (external assets). The remaining assets focus on the social-emotional strengths, values, and commitments that are nurtured within young people (internal assets). This event will focus on identifying and building the supports and strengths young people need to thrive and will be followed by an interactive discussion among parents on ways to enhance resilience-building practices in their own families.

Digital Citizenship for Parents: Learning in a Digital World

Thursday, 4 April, 19:00 - 21:00
Fleischbachstrasse 2, 4153 Reinach

We welcome you to attend the third in our Digital Citizenship for Parents series, looking at what we as an ISB community can do to best prepare our children to be digital citizens of the world.

One of the newest theories in education is called Connectivism, and it explores how we cope with the hyper-connected world of today. In a world where truth has increasingly been challenged and fact has become mixed with fiction, how do we learn effectively? Likewise, in a polarised world, how do we come to consensus and promote collaboration and collegiality in our learning journeys? This session will offer both educational theory and best practice. The goals will be how to engage in open and honest communication about these issues, and how to help young people develop strategies for learning in this new paradigm.
